Simplify Virtual Meetings with a Zoom Personal Meeting Room
If you regularly meet with clients, colleagues, or business contacts on Zoom, consider setting up a Personal Meeting Room (PMR). A Personal Meeting Room provides you with a permanent meeting link and meeting ID that remain the same, making it easy for others to connect with you without needing a new invitation for every meeting.
To set up your Personal Meeting Room:
- Sign in to your Zoom account through a web browser.
- Navigate to Settings and ensure the Personal Meeting Room feature is enabled.
- Visit your Profile page to view your Personal Meeting ID and permanent meeting link.
- Share this link with frequent contacts or add it to your email signature for convenient access.
Keep Security in Mind
Because your Personal Meeting Room uses a permanent link, it is important to take a few precautions:
- Enable the Waiting Room feature so participants must be admitted before joining.
- Avoid posting your Personal Meeting Room link publicly on websites or social media.
- Admit only expected participants into the meeting.
- Lock the meeting once all attendees have arrived.
- For additional security, Zoom also allows you to require a meeting passcode, although in many cases the passcode is embedded within the meeting link participants receive.
A Personal Meeting Room can be a simple but effective way to streamline client communications, reduce scheduling hassles, and provide a consistent meeting location for your virtual conversations—all while maintaining control over who joins your meetings.
