Personal taxes that fit with the rest of your life.
1040 preparation for business owners and their families, coordinated with your business taxes.
Individual Tax Preparation (1040)
Who this is for
We prepare individual tax returns for our business clients and their immediate families. Most of our 1040 clients are business owners, their spouses, adult children, and key employees. Doing both sides of the return together is where the real planning happens.
We don’t market individual tax preparation as a stand-alone service to the general public. If you’re looking for a one-time 1040, there are great firms for that — but our model is built around longer relationships.
What it usually costs
Individual returns generally start at $750 and scale with complexity (multi-state, rental real estate, K-1s, capital gains activity, foreign reporting, etc.). We quote the fee before we begin work, never after.
What’s included
Federal and Georgia individual tax returns
Multi-state returns when you live or earn in more than one state
K-1 coordination from your business returns
Schedule C, Schedule E, and Schedule F where applicable
Estimated tax planning and quarterly payment guidance
Coordination with retirement plan contributions, HSAs, and FSAs
Capital gains planning
IRS and Georgia DOR correspondence handled on your behalf
Secure online document exchange (no paper, no email attachments with sensitive data)
When are individual taxes due?
April 15 for most filers. We file extensions when we need to, but extensions are not a way to pay later — estimated tax is still due on April 15. We help you make sure that’s covered.
Do I need to come into the office?
You don’t have to. Most clients upload documents to our secure portal and we handle the return remotely. If you’d rather come in to Dunwoody or Cumming, we’re happy to meet in person.
What do I need to bring?
We’ll send you a personalized checklist listing every document we need based on last year’s return. New clients get a starter checklist during onboarding.
Can you do my return if I’m self-employed?
Yes. Sole proprietors and single-member LLCs file on Schedule C; partners and S corp owners file with K-1s. We coordinate the business and individual sides so the numbers tie.
What if I owe money I can’t pay?
Don’t skip filing. We can help you set up an IRS payment plan. Filing on time and paying over time is almost always better than not filing at all.
